Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 28, 2026  ·  Questions? Email us.

The short version (plain English)

  • We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal information.
  • We do not upload your phone usage data anywhere.
  • All data stays on your device and is never transmitted.
  • We have no user accounts, no servers, and no analytics tracking.
  • You can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the app.

1. Who we are

Screenlytics is an Android application developed to help individuals understand their personal phone usage patterns. This Privacy Policy explains how Screenlytics handles data when you use our application. By installing and using Screenlytics, you agree to the terms of this policy.

If you have questions, contact us at: support@screenlytics.app

2. What data Screenlytics collects

Usage Events (local only): When you grant the Usage Access permission, Screenlytics reads app open and close timestamps from Android's UsageStatsManager API. This includes which app was opened/closed and the exact timestamps, derived duration, and screen unlock count.

Processed Insights (local only): Screenlytics calculates daily totals, weekly trends, and usage summaries from the raw events above. These are stored in your device's local app storage only.

No other data is collected. This is the complete and exhaustive list.

3. What Screenlytics does NOT collect

Screenlytics never accesses, reads, collects, or stores:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifier
  • Your location, GPS coordinates, or IP address
  • The content of messages, emails, chats, or notifications
  • Passwords, PINs, or typed keystrokes of any kind
  • Photos, videos, files, or documents on your device
  • Your contacts, call history, or SMS messages
  • Screen content, screenshots, or screen recordings
  • Microphone input or camera data
  • Device identifiers such as IMEI or advertising IDs
  • Financial information of any kind

4. How and where data is stored

All data processed by Screenlytics is stored exclusively in your device's local private application storage — sandboxed, private, on-device only, and fully deleted when you uninstall the app.

5. Data sharing and third parties

Screenlytics does not share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose your data to any third party. There are no advertising networks, analytics platforms, or partner companies involved. Screenlytics does not integrate with Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or any SDK that transmits data off-device.

6. Network access

Screenlytics does not require internet access and makes no network requests. The app operates entirely offline. Your usage data is never transmitted over a network.

7. Permissions requested

Screenlytics requests only one system permission:

PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access)

Required by Android to read app open/close timestamps via UsageStatsManager. This permission cannot see screen content, messages, passwords, notifications, or files.

We do not request — and will never request — Camera, Microphone, Location, Contacts, Storage, Call Log, SMS, Notification access, or Device Admin access.

8. Children's privacy

Screenlytics is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from any user. Since no personal data is collected, the app is inherently safe by design.

9. Data deletion

To delete all Screenlytics data: go to Android Settings → Apps → Screenlytics → Storage → “Clear Data”, or simply uninstall the app. Android permanently removes all app data on uninstall. Since we store nothing externally, no additional step is needed.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and notify users via an in-app notice. We do not anticipate changes that expand the types of data we access, as our design philosophy is to remain entirely on-device.
